Randolph School District,
Due to close contact quarantines in our school and staff illnesses, we must pivot. We simply do not have adequate staffing to safely and productively continue school operations. The following temporary changes are intended to respond to our current situation and position ourselves for future sustainability.
On Tuesday, October 27, there is NO school, including virtual instruction.
Wednesday, October 28 through October 30, grades 4K-12 will move to virtual instruction. This week of virtual learning will allow staffing levels to improve. This timeline may be extended if staff absences continue to be problematic.
We still intend to provide breakfast and lunch to students who need this service. Due to the short notice of this closure, we will deliver meals, regardless of distance from school, to all families who request them by 8:00 AM. Please sign-up for meals service here or phone any building office.
As this pivot is due to adequate staffing, co-curricular activities may still proceed.
Upon the scheduled return to in-person learning on November 2, grades 6-8 will be added to the Blue/White rotation currently implemented at the 9-12 grade levels. This change will further increase physical distancing and limit close contact exposures.
The District’s priority is to maintain a safe learning environment. The decision to close in-person learning is in the best interests of our students and staff while remaining committed to learning in-person and providing career, technical and co-curricular experiences.
The Board and administration have considered some adjustments to our school calendar that will take effect during the traditional flu and holiday seasons to allow the district to effectively support in-person instruction, particularly in grades 4K-5. This planning will be made available yet this week.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support during these challenging times. Please do not hesitate to contact your child(ren)’s Principal if you have specific questions regarding these changes.
Stay well,
Mr. Ty Breitlow
